Author Johan Bakker presented the first copy of One-way trip to Mars to inventor and artist Daan Roosegaarde at Studio Roosegaarde. In Bakker’s space novel, four astronauts travel to the red planet to start a society that is more beautiful, humane and sincere than the one they left on Earth. ‘This thought appeals to me very much,’ said Roosegaarde. His Rotterdam studio is currently involved in space travel. With support from ESA experts, Roosegaardes team is working on Space Waste Lab, an ambitious plan to clean up the space scrap that orbits the Earth.
